Shipping Cost Estimate

Estimate China-Australia shipping costs using your current shipment details. These figures are indicative only and do not include customs duties or taxes.

How would you like to ship?

Choose the closest option. The next steps will show only the cargo fields and charges relevant to it.

How this calculator works (click to expand)▼

1. Lane & Ports: Pick your origin (China) and destination (Australia) ports. Each lane has its own contracted base rate.

2. Shipment Type: LCL for <15 CBM (charged per CBM), FCL for full containers (flat rate per container), Air for urgent <500 kg.

3. Cargo Details: Either enter dimensions per carton OR enter total CBM directly from your supplier's packing list.

4. Trade Terms: FOB / CIF / DDU / DDP determine who pays what. DDP = door-to-door tax-inclusive (LCL only). DDU = you pay GST + duty separately to ABF. Tick "Supplier arranges freight" if your supplier quoted CIF/CFR — only destination services will be calculated.

5. Cargo Value: Drives high-value rate (~AUD 204/CBM above ~AUD 2,062 / 10,000 RMB), insurance, and estimated GST/duty. Enter in AUD, CNY/RMB or USD.

6. Add-ons: Insurance (0.3-0.5%), COO (saves 5% duty), and any configured oversize fee if an item exceeds 240 cm. For air freight: extra ¥150 RMB (~AUD 30.93) per item if any single dimension (L, W, or H) exceeds 100 cm.

Shipping cost: inputs, method and limitations

Use this calculator to organise a planning scenario and understand how its inputs affect the result. It is most useful when you keep a record of the units, dates and service assumptions. For shipping cost, the information you enter should describe the actual requirement rather than an idealised example.

Prepare the inputs

Collect origin, destination, mode, package dimensions, gross weight, quantity and delivery scope. Check that the measurements and quantities use consistent units. If a value is unknown, label it as an assumption and revisit the result when confirmed information becomes available.

Interpret the result

Compare the same route, cargo and included services. Separate collection, main transport, destination services and delivery. Check minimum charges, unit bases and currencies before combining amounts.

Check before relying on the estimate

Packed volume and chargeable weight can change the basis of a quote. A published lane or planning rate must still be checked for validity, equipment, cargo restrictions and any services outside the stated scope.

Questions before you proceed

Can I use the result as a confirmed offer?
No. A calculator explains the scenario entered. Ask the responsible provider to confirm the applicable service, method, terms and final commercial offer.
How should I compare two scenarios?
Change one assumption at a time, keep the units and calculation boundaries consistent, and record why the input changed. Confirm the preferred scenario against the actual goods and service requirements.
